These terms are the agreement between you and JL Studio LLC (“we”, “us”) for using Layout Coder, our free tool for making Howrse presentation layouts. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What Layout Coder is

Layout Coder lets you place text boxes on a background image and copies out HTML you can paste into a Howrse presentation. It is free to use. We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.

Not affiliated with Howrse

Layout Coder is an independent, fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Howrse, Owlient, or Ubisoft. “Howrse” and related names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what the tool is compatible with.

Your content and images

You are responsible for the images and text you use. When you link to an image, you confirm you have the right to use it. We do not host, store, review, or moderate your images or layouts. Your browser simply loads images from wherever you point it, and the generated code is yours to use.
You keep any rights you have in the layouts and content you create with the tool.

Acceptable use

Please use Layout Coder lawfully. Do not use it to create or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, or otherwise harmful, and do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or otherwise misuse the site or its infrastructure.

No warranty

Layout Coder is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In particular, we do not guarantee that:

the generated code will work on Howrse, or keep working, because Howrse can change what it allows at any time, and third-party image hosts can change their rules or shut down; or
the site will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

You use the tool, and the code it produces, at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, JL Studio LLC and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, content, or layouts, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Layout Coder or the code it generates. Because the tool is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is nothing. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Third-party services

Layout Coder links to and relies on third-party services, including Howrse, the image hosts you choose, an embedded video, and our hosting provider. We are not responsible for those services or their content, and your use of them is subject to their own terms and policies.

Our intellectual property

The Layout Coder name, site design, and code are owned by JL Studio LLC or used under license. These terms do not give you any rights to our branding. This does not affect the rights you have in the layouts you create.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in North Carolina, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
