Layout Coder is a free tool for making Howrse presentation layouts, operated by JL Studio LLC (“we”, “us”). We built it to be as private as possible: there are no accounts, and we do not collect personal information about you. This policy explains the little data that is involved and how it is handled.

The short version

No account, no sign-up, and no personal details are ever requested.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we set no cookies of our own.
Your layouts and images are never stored on our servers.
The only data involved is the standard technical information our host records to keep the site running, plus anything you choose to load from a third party (an image host, or the embedded video).

Information involved

Server logs

Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page that referred you, and the date and time. This is normal for any website and is used only to operate the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. We do not use it to identify you or build a profile.

No account data

Layout Coder has no login, no registration, and no forms that send personal information to us. We genuinely do not have an account or profile associated with you.

Your layouts and images stay in your browser

While you build a layout, it exists only in your browser. When you paste an image link, your browser loads that image directly from wherever it is hosted, and we never receive, copy, or store the image. We also do not store the code you generate. Nothing you make is saved on our servers.

Cookies and local storage

Layout Coder does not set cookies and does not use local storage for tracking. The embedded video described below may set its own cookies, but only if you choose to play it.

Third-party services

Image hosts. You choose where your images live (for example Imgur, ImgBB, or Postimages). When your browser loads an image, that host may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We have no control over those services.
Embedded video. One screen includes a video embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies until you press play. If you play it, Google may collect information as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel, whose handling of the server logs above is covered by the Vercel Privacy Policy.
Fonts are served from our own site, not fetched from a third party while you browse.

Children’s privacy

Layout Coder is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not hold personal information tied to you, there is very little for us to access, correct, or delete. Depending on where you live (for example the EU or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights over personal data about you. If you have a request or question, contact us using the details below and we will do our best to help. You can also manage cookies and site access through your browser settings.

International visitors

Layout Coder is operated from the United States and hosted on infrastructure that may be located in the United States or elsewhere. By using the site you understand that the limited technical data described above may be processed in those locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
